SPORTS INFORMATION

The Albany State University Sports Information Office is responsible for providing a full range of services for members of the working media. Our goal is to maintain and provide accurate and timely information about the Golden Rams’ 11 sports programs to all media representatives. MEDIA POLICIES

Interviews
All interviews with ASU coaches, student-athletes and staff members must be arranged through the Office of Sports Information. After games, matches, and other athletic events, locker rooms are generally off limits. Player and coach interviews, however, may be conducted outside locker rooms or on the playing surface after a 10-minute cooling off period.
Practices
Practices policies vary per sport but are generally open to the media. Prior knowledge of attendance is appreciated.
Game Day Coverage and Press Credentials
Contact the Office of Sports Information for all credentials. Any media member covering football and basketball events hosted by ASU is asked to reserve a press credential at least 24 hours prior to the event. While last minute media are welcome, prior knowledge of your arrival is much appreciated. Credentials can be obtained on game day at the Will Call/Pass Gate at the Albany Municipal Coliseum. The press box is limited to working media, radio and television broadcasters, coaches, sports information directors, statisticians and game operation officials.
Parking
Media representatives who request credentials at least one week in advance will be provided a parking pass.
Services
Programs, line-ups, current statistics, season results, team rosters and game notes are provided at each football games. Team and individual statistics will be provided at halftime of football games and a full football report, including a scoring summary; team, individual and defensive statistics; play-by-play and drive charts, will be available at the conclusion of the game. Halftime and final box scores will be provided at basketball contests.
Technology
At most athletic events, a general phone and fax line and photocopier will be made available to members of the working media.
Radio
Any visiting radio broadcasts for football and basketball must reserve their seating and phone lines at least one week in advance of the event.
Photographers
Photographers are asked to stay at least 10 feet from the football playing surface and shoot from standard basketball shooting positions. Similar policies apply for credentials and seating reservations.
