New Student Orientation for Spring Semester January 5, 2010
Dear ASU Student:
Embarking on your college career with maturity is unique in itself and an accomplishment of which you should be proud. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY. You have indeed made the right choice. For a student, entering a new college environment can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. For that reason, we are providing a condensed orientation information session for students. New Student Orientation is a very special time for all of our new students, and it will assist you in making a smooth transition to ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY. This shortened orientation will provide you with vital information regarding Albany State, course registration, transfer credits, campus life/leadership and the opportunity to address any matriculation issues.
Dr. Everette J. Freeman, has a special initiative in which all ASU students are encouraged to obtain a passport; therefore the fee for New Student Orientation is $160.00 to cover the cost of your Passport. PLEASE NOTE THE PASSPORT FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND IS NOT MANDATORY TO PURCHASE. If you already have a Passport or choose not to purchase, your orientation fee will be $50.00. In order to obtain your passport, you must bring an original birth certificate or a certified copy with you.
The orientation information session is scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the ACAD Auditorium, Room 150, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We strongly urge you to attend this sessions.
