James Pendergrast Memorial Library

Welcome to the James Pendergrast Memorial Library. The Library was completed in the winter of 1993 and was named in honor of Dr. James Pendergrast who served as Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Chemistry from 1970 to his retirement in 1980. Dr. Pendergrast served 10 years of distinguished service at Albany State University. The library serves the campus and community of Albany State University located in Albany, Georgia. The library houses 180,000 volumes and seats approximately 625 persons. The library contains three floors. Click here for a floor plan.

The library is a member of the Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) which was established in March of 1993. This network was established to increase the availability of bibliographic resources through the use of electronic telecommunications. Presently, the library utilizes the GIL/RAMCAT as the On-line Public Access Catalog. Galileo computers are available for use of the Internet and other resources are available through the Georgia Statewide Library Network.
