About The Office of Continuing Education

The Albany State University Office of Continuing Education strives to be the preeminent source of information and education to all who seek continuous skill development and lifelong learning.  We endeavor to reach this goal by:

  1. increasing public awareness of Albany State University and the programs, services, and educational  opportunities available through the Office of Continuing Education;
  2. serving as a gateway to introduce members of the university community to the citizens of southwest Georgia, especially those who have had little or no interaction with schools of post-secondary education;
  3. providing diverse programming to integrate a larger segment of our 24-county service area; and
  4. providing quality educational programming to promote and be a catalyst for lifelong learning in our community.

The various programs offered by the Office of Continuing Education are classified as non-credit Category I Continuing Education Units [CEUs] or Category II for conferences, independent study, and pre-college programs.  The non-credit category includes courses for career development, personal enrichment, special conferences, workshops, lectures, institutes, and consultant services for a variety of professional and community needs.

In the Continuing Education program, we value:

  • LOYALTY--we diligently strive to further the mission and goals set forth by the University;
  • TRUTH--we strive to function in a professional and ethical manner;
  • ELEVATION OF THE MIND--we seek to provide quality programming as prescribed by the University System of Georgia and Albany State University; and
  • FAITHFUL SERVICE--we are committed to providing quality customer care, ensuring that everyone who encounters a member of the Continuing Education staff has a positive experience, is treated with dignity and respect, and receives exemplary service.
