We are the Business School of choice for the diverse population of southwest Georgia as well as for students from throughout the Southeastern United States. We are a college of highly competent and motivated students and faculty who are working together to build partnerships with the multitude of regional employers to ensure a continuous supply of business professionals - graduates who possess the knowledge, skills and leadership characteristics demanded by employers of our global economy.
The college's graduates, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, are actively recruited by major organizations throughout the region and nation. Our graduates, as well as our faculty, are among the most competent and diverse of any university in the Georgia system or in the South. We pride ourselves in placing 100 percent of our graduates in gainful employment either in their professional field of interest, in successful entrepreneurial ventures or in advanced degree programs. Ongoing partnerships with sister universities, other schools and with public and private sector employers help ensure that our graduates meet the changing needs of a global economy. The partnership includes strategic planning with our Business College Advisory Board, the Committee to Improve Corporate Relations, and periodic Future Search Conferences with the major stakeholders of the college meeting to set our future direction and priority goals.
Fast, continuous and effective learning is our number one value and guiding principle in all that we do. The college's faculty and staff realize the importance of continuous experimentation and feedback and attention to how we define and solve problems - that the "how" we learn is just as important as "what" we know. Management policies and practices, therefore, encourage, recognize and reward openness, inclusion, creativity and empathy. Our first priority is to meet the ever-changing needs of our students as they pursue or continue their careers in the world of business.
In order to achieve this vision, our major goals are to:
Improve relationships between the college and the leadership of business, industry and government.
Provide curriculums, degree programs and course offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of students and employers.
Create motivational learning environments that meet the individual needs of a diverse student body.
Ensure that within a year of graduation, every graduate is employed in a professional position of choice, in graduate school or is self-employed.
Ensure that each faculty member accomplishes a set of teaching, community service, professional development, and research and publication goals that mesh with the goals of the college.
